The Story of Alessandro Pierre

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Alessandro Pierre started surfing in the early 90s at the age of 13 and quickly became interested in repairing and making his own boards.

What started as a hobby turned into a profession. After losing his father, he began making and repairing boards for friends and local surfers, but it was always clear that shaping boards was his calling — what he loved doing above everything else.

Hardship made him stronger and enabled him to follow his dreams. In 1994, he got his first job in a professional board factory where he learned extensively about shaping and the entire construction process: glassing, sanding, artwork and polishing.

World-class brands

Over the years, Alessandro worked with brands and shapers of international prestige:Rusty, Victory, Channel Islands, Lost, FB Surfboards... These collaborations gave him the opportunity to shape for top-level surfers.

Europe

In 2006, Alessandro arrived in Europe. First in France, at the Omkara factory, where he spent great moments while launching his work in Europe. Then to Spain and the Olatu factory, where he became part of the Pukas family, shaping for Channel Islands and his own brand "Kream by Alessandro Pierre".

He had the honor of working alongside legendary shapers such as Peter Daniels, Gael Blouet, Axel Lorentz, Mikel Agote, Johnny Cabianca and Bob McTavish.

His own path

With a desire to continue evolving and creating in total freedom, in 2016 Alessandro decided to go his own way, dedicating 100% of his knowledge, experience and creativity to his boards: Alessandro Pierre Surfboards.

Now based in Seignosse, near Hossegor — one of the surfing capitals of the world — he hand-shapes every board in his workshop, using AkuShaper technology combined with an artisanal finish. His boards are ridden by professional surfers around the globe.
